LONG BEACH, CA – Menlo College Baseball catcher Mason Hanshaw has been named the PacWest Player of the Week after delivering one of the most dominant offensive performances of the season this past weekend at Fresno Pacific University.
Monster Day at the Plate
Hanshaw, the senior from Danville, California, turned in a dominant weekend at the plate, hitting .555 (5-for-9) across the doubleheader at Fresno Pacific on Friday. He totaled six RBIs, three home runs, one double, and three runs scored, providing a consistent spark for the Oaks' offense throughout the series.
His most impactful performance came in Game 3, a contest that featured a lengthy lightning delay and multiple momentum swings. Hanshaw opened the scoring with a solo home run in the third inning and later delivered again in the eighth, and his grande finale was the ninth, crushing a three-run homer as part of a six-RBI day. His power surge accounted for a significant portion of Menlo's offense and highlighted a resilient late-game push.
Hanshaw continued to be a bright spot offensively as Menlo battled through a challenging series against a surging Fresno Pacific squad. Despite the team results, his ability to produce in key moments and drive in runs underscored his value in the middle of the lineup. On the season, Hanshaw is batting .289 with 13 hits, including a double, and has totaled four home runs and 10 RBIs. He has also recorded 26 total bases and scored eight runs, contributing steady production in the Oaks' lineup. Defensively, his reliability behind the plate and ability to manage the pitching staff have made him an essential presence on both sides of the ball.
