LOS ANGELES, CA – Matching up with No. 4 Southern California for the second consecutive night inside Galen Center, Menlo Men's Volleyball led the Trojans out of the gate and again in the second set before the home team rallied toward the 21-25, 16-25, 11-25 scores on Saturday.

Carrying his momentum from the previous night,
Max Jarrett logged the first two kills for the Oaks, but
Garrett Hockman and
Mark Ensalaco soon joined their teammate in putting down kills during a 10-7 start for Menlo.
Joshua Friedman added a service ace during a 3-0 run at the end of that push which was soon met by six of seven straight points by USC. With
Alexandre Ferdani posting a pair of kills, the Oaks retook the lead at 17-16 and no more than a single point separated the two sides until the Trojans claimed four of the final five points for the 25-21 result.

Trailing 7-3 in the second frame, Menlo used a 9-4 surge highlighted by kills from Ferdani, Jarrett, and Ensalaco to move in front 12-11. Southern California, however, countered with 10 of the next 11 points for a 25-16 set victory. The Trojans began the third up 9-2 and extended the margin midway through, ending the night on top 25-11.

Oaks Top Performances

Max Jarrett posted nine kills while adding a career-high five digs.
