ATHERTON, CA – Continuing to add to a strong 2026-27 roster, Menlo Women's Basketball is excited to announce the signing of Anika Shaw, an all-around guard from Kaiapoi High School in New Zealand.
While guiding Kaiapoi to a top-10 national finish, Shaw's senior year was highlighted by averages of 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. The native of Christchurch, New Zealand carries a resume that includes Team Most Valuable Player and Regional All-Star in her career thus far. A regional representative at the senior women's level, Shaw competed as an amateur development player in the national professional women's league in addition to earning a 2025 U20 National Championship.
"I liked the idea of a smaller tight-knit community at a college with great academics and athletics," Shaw said. "Talking with Coach [Shannon] Spataro and some players helped me feel connected. I feel like Menlo could be a home away from home for me. I've also watched the team play a lot and enjoy the style of play."
Shaw intends to study Psychology at Menlo this fall.
