Oaks Total More Kills Than Coyotes In Second Set
The evening began with Cal State San Bernardino going up 12-3 and, though Menlo did get kills from five different Oaks in the set, the margin proved too great for a comeback as the Coyotes started with the 25-11 victory. Bouncing back to open the second frame up 4-2, Menlo had sophomore outside hitter/opposite
Kate Ross connect on three kills during that initial run before an 8-1 response from the home team. Junior outside hitter
Michelle Mlikan had four kills before the set was complete, but the short bursts were not enough to bring the Oaks back against the eventual 25-17 result.
After building a 13-5 advantage by the midpoint of the third frame, CSUSB used another 6-1 run and the final four scores of the night to close out the 25-10 win.
Up Next
The Oaks will be back home for their next four matches, initially hosting both Stanislaus State on Oct. 16 (1 p.m.) and Chico State on Oct. 17 (7 p.m.) for Menlo's Hall of Fame and OAKtoberFest Weekend.
