SAN RAFAEL, CA – Though repeated conversions at the rim helped Menlo Men's Basketball gain a double-digit advantage in the first half, Dominican countered by shooting over 62 percent from the field with seven 3-pointers in the second half of what became the Penguins' 83-76 Pacific West Conference win on their home floor of Conlan Center on Monday.

Real separation came six minutes into the contest when triples by sophomore guard

Salim Arikat initiated an 11-1 run that also featured a strong dunk by senior forward
JaMaal Unuakhalu. Growing the margin to as many as 11 points on a jumper by junior guard
Devon Woods, Menlo saw it dip back down following Dominican's 11-2 rebuttal. Halftime saw the difference back to seven as steady scoring efforts from Unuakhalu, Brown, and Woods came in the waning minutes of the period.
Sophomore guard
Jonathan Moxie's 3-pointer to begin the second half returned the lead to double figures yet multiple triples allowed the Penguins to push back with a 9-1 burst. The contest oscillated between the two sides over the next few minutes until a 7-0 run took things from tied at 56-56 to the home team ahead eventually by 11. Fast-developing layups by the Oaks kept the margin from getting any larger, but Dominican's free throws wound up being the difference in the 83-76 final.
