ROCKLIN, CA – Fans on both sides of Thursday's Pacific West Conference rematch held their collective breath as clutch shots were attempted throughout the late stages of regulation and throughout overtime as Menlo Men's Basketball nearly walked out of Warrior Arena victorious, but Jessup managed to come out on top 72-67.

A 12-4 start for Jessup was soon countered by a 16-7 Menlo response with nine of those points coming from the backcourt of junior guard

Quentin Thompson put the Oaks in front 20-19 then an 8-0 Menlo came soon after with four different Oaks contributing baskets toward a 28-23 advantage. The half, however, ended on a 10-2 run by Jessup that pushed them back in front 33-30 at the break.
Though the Warriors assumed a double-digit margin early in the second half, 10 unanswered points came from Menlo with Thompson and junior forward
Salim Arikat leading the charge. The difference rose again to nine yet Thompson steadily produced at the foul line, triples from freshman forward
Luke Wieskamp and senior forward
Nick High fell, and Brown continuously got to the rim in what became a 19-9 resurgence for the Oaks. Up 61-60 after Brown's third layup in the last five minutes of regulation, Menlo saw Jessup eke out a game-tying free throw to send the contest into overtime.
Action went back and forth until Wieskamp nailed a 3-pointer to retie the game at 67-67. After a layup on the Warriors' ensuing possession, neither side was able to score over the next two minutes that followed as potential game-altering attempts did not fall for Menlo in the final 60 seconds and the home team held on to win 72-67.
