Over 66 Percent Shooting From The Field In Fourth Seals Win
Despite Chaminade's 10-6 lead early on, Menlo countered with a 14-4 run that featured points from five different Oaks including five off the hands of graduate student guard
Laila Saenz. Menlo had doubled up the Silverswords with a 12-6 start to the second quarter as Frisch provided eight of those points yet a late 8-0 push allowed CUH to cut the deficit to 35-31 at halftime.
That momentum for the home team carried into the third quarter during which Chaminade gained a six-point advantage after shooting over 58 percent from the field in the frame. The quarter ended, however, on a 12-3 surge by Menlo that was highlighted by seven points from Frisch, sending her team to the fourth up 58-51.
Doubling their margin three minutes into the final frame, the Oaks got back-to-back scores from sophomore forward
Zoe Carrillo and a transition layup by Saenz for a 6-0 run that was later supported by multiple high-percentage conversions from senior guard
Mehkia Applewhite. In the end, Frisch rose her individual total to 32 with the last five points to finish off the 78-66 triumph.
