7/30/2025 10:53:00 AM

ATHERTON, CAAfter seven seasons of leadership, transition, and historic success, Todd Hollenbeck has announced his resignation as Head Coach of the Menlo College Men's Volleyball team. Hollenbeck leaves behind a legacy of competitive excellence and program development, compiling an overall record of 87-49, including six seasons at the NAIA level and guiding the Oaks through their inaugural NCAA Division II season as members of the elite Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF).

Hollenbeck was instrumental in establishing Menlo as a national contender in the NAIA, including a breakout 17-1 start during the 2020 season and a top national ranking as high as No. 3. Under his leadership, the Oaks earned three NAIA National Tournament appearances, culminating in the program's first-ever national tournament victory in 2023.

Throughout his tenure, Hollenbeck coached three NAIA All-Americans, three All-GSAC honorees, two GSAC Freshmen of the Year, one GSAC Player of the Year, and was named the 2020 GSAC Coach of the Year. In their first year competing in the MPSF, the Oaks earned recognition at the national level with one player receiving MPSF Honorable Mention honors—further highlighting the competitive trajectory Hollenbeck set in motion.

A Veteran Coach with Deep Roots in California Volleyball
Todd Hollenbeck became just the second head coach in Menlo Men's Volleyball history when he succeeded Atlee Frechette in 2018. Prior to Menlo, he served as an assistant coach at the University of Southern California, where he managed recruiting, practice planning, and training for the Trojans. During his time at USC, he also led the Southern California Volleyball Association Youth National Team and the Southern California Volleyball Club, where he coached multiple teams to gold medals in the USA High Performance Championships.

Menlo College extends its deepest gratitude to Coach Hollenbeck for his years of service and the profound impact he had on the Menlo Men's Volleyball program. The Oaks are poised for continued success with a strong core of returning student-athletes. The search for the program's next head coach will begin immediately.
