Menlo Men's Basketball Ends Season on a High Note with Statement Win Over Vanguard

COSTA MESA, CA – Menlo Men's Basketball finished their 2024-25 season in dominant fashion, securing a 74-63 road victory over Vanguard University at the Freed Center for Leadership and Service. The Oaks controlled the game from start to finish, executing on both ends of the floor to walk away with a well-earned win. Landon Seaman writes his name in several categories of Menlo College's record books, securing himself as one of the most historically talented players in program history. 


 

Bringing the Heat

Menlo stayed in front the whole way thanks to the following Oaks.

  • Landon Seaman delivered a stellar performance with a game-high 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.

  • Nick Davidson was a key contributor with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists.

  • Quentin Thompson provided a strong presence off the bench with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals.

  • Jonathan Moxie played a well-rounded game with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists.

  • Kareem Rowe added 6 points and 8 rebounds while anchoring the defense.


 

One Last Win

Menlo shot an efficient 51.9% from the field, including 33.3% (5-of-15) from beyond the arc. The Oaks also controlled the boards, outrebounding Vanguard 44-30.

From the opening tip, Menlo set the tone with a fast-paced offensive attack and aggressive defense, building a 39-28 halftime lead. The Oaks' dominance in the paint was evident, outscoring the Lions 44-40 down low. Despite Vanguard's efforts to close the gap in the second half, Menlo maintained composure, never relinquishing control of the game.

The defense was a difference-maker for the Oaks, forcing 12 Vanguard turnovers and converting them into 19 points. Menlo also limited second-chance opportunities, holding Vanguard to just 8 second-chance points.

With the win, Menlo concludes their season at 11-15 overall and 7-13 in PacWest play, finishing #11 in the conference standings.


 

PacWest Leaderboard Recognition

Landon Seaman finished #2 in scoring, #4 in rebounding, #2 in field goal percentage, #12 in free throw percentage, #14 in blocks, and #20 in steals in the PacWest.

Kareem Rowe ranked #14 in rebounding.

Nick Davidson ranked #17 in assists.
