SAN DIEGO, CA – Menlo Baseball closed out its four-game series against Point Loma Nazarene University with a doubleheader on Saturday. Facing one of the top offenses in the conference, the Oaks battled but struggled to contain the Sea Lions' firepower.

Game 1: Menlo 4 - 15 PLNU
Menlo stayed competitive early on in Game 1, plating two runs in the third inning thanks to a clutch double from Justin Flannery. The Oaks kept it close through five innings, trailing just 6-4, but Point Loma's bats erupted in the later frames. The Sea Lions capitalized on free passes and defensive miscues, putting up a big sixth inning that sealed the game. Despite some solid at-bats from the Oaks, they ultimately fell 4-15.
Richard Kiel started on the bump for the Oaks and went 4.2 IP with 10 hits, 9 earned runs, and a strikeout. Wesley Payne came in for 0.2 innings before Nick Liechty finished off the game for the final 0.2.
Game 2: Menlo 0 - 8 PLNU
In the series finale, Menlo's offense struggled against Point Loma's pitching staff. The Oaks were limited to just two hits, both coming from Jake Warkentien. Meanwhile, the Sea Lions continued their strong offensive display, scoring in four of the seven innings played. Anthony Tellez took the loss after surrendering seven runs over four innings, while Sam Grannes provided some stability in relief. The Oaks ended the series with an 0-8 loss, concluding a challenging weekend on the road.
