Menlo's Mid-Game Explosion
The game began with both teams struggling to generate offense, as Menlo managed just a single run through the first five innings. Cal State East Bay took an early 3-1 lead, but the Oaks flipped the script in the bottom of the sixth, sending ten batters to the plate and racking up seven runs on a combination of timely hitting and defensive miscues by the Pioneers. Morrison's clutch two-RBI single highlighted the breakthrough inning.
After a scoreless seventh, Menlo delivered the final blow in the eighth, plating five more runs to push their lead to 13-4. Dyer and Flannery each drove in key insurance runs to put the game out of reach. On the mound, Barsotti kept the Oaks in the game early, limiting the Pioneers to one earned run over five innings, while Williams and the bullpen combined to shut down Cal State East Bay's lineup in the late innings.
Up Next….
The Oaks continue their hot start and will look to carry this momentum into their next game tomorrow, Sunday February 9th at 12pm in Hayward, CA for one more faceoff with the Pioneers of Cal State East Bay!
