Menlo 1 - 13 CUI

Concordia wasted no time jumping ahead, exploding for 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Menlo made a pitching change early, bringing in Destanee Perez, who worked hard to limit further damage, throwing 3.2 innings and striking out two batters.

The Oaks found a bright spot in the top of the second inning when Aleatha Buchner led off with a double. Attempting to steal third, Buchner forced a throwing error from Concordia's catcher, allowing her to advance home and score Menlo's only run of the game. Despite solid at-bats from Tacia Kahalewai, who went 3-for-3, and Makayla Mentzer, who added another hit, Menlo struggled to generate additional offense.

Looking Ahead

Menlo will regroup as they continue PacWest Conference play, looking to build off their individual successes and refine their approach moving forward. The Oaks will face the Warriors of Jessup on Saturday, March 8 at 12pm at Wunderlich Field for a doubleheader.
