Haukefaer's Brace Lifts Menlo
The Sharks struck early in the 1st minute to take a 1-0 advantage, but Menlo responded with poise and persistent pressure. The equalizer came in the 34th minute when Hugo Few made a clever tackle to win the ball deep in the attacking third. He drove to the endline and found Isak Haukefaer in stride, who smashed it home to make it 1-1. Menlo carried momentum into halftime while creating multiple chances—outshooting HPU 8-4 in the opening 45 minutes.
The Oaks continued their high press into the second half and were rewarded again. In the 54th minute, Oliver Mayer forced a turnover, combining with Few on a quick passing sequence inside the box. Haukefaer positioned himself perfectly for another calm tap-in to give Menlo a 2-1 lead and complete his brace. Menlo's attack kept its foot on the gas in the 70th minute when Parker Faeth delivered a perfectly timed through ball to Johan Mendoza Aguilar, who was taken down inside the box.
