ATHERTON, CA – Menlo Men's Basketball battled valiantly against Academy of Art on Saturday afternoon at Haynes-Prim Pavilion, but a buzzer-beater in overtime handed the Urban Knights a heartbreaking 89-91 victory. The Oaks put on a gritty performance, demonstrating resilience and teamwork in front of a lively home crowd.

Nick Davidson led all scorers with 26 points, shooting 9-of-19 from the field, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, while adding 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Landon Seaman was dominant in the paint, recording a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds. He also contributed 2 blocks and went 10-of-13 from the free-throw line. Today was Seaman's 7th double-double of the season!

Patrick Ryan showcased his all-around game with 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 assists, while playing a team-high 41 minutes. This would account for Ryan's first double-double in the PacWest, against a high-caliber opponent.

A Battle to the Final Buzzer
The Oaks started strong, keeping pace with Academy of Art in the first half despite early foul trouble. Menlo's aggressive rebounding efforts and efficient scoring in the paint gave them a 31-38 deficit at halftime. The team rallied in the second half, outscoring the Urban Knights 48-41 to force overtime. Key plays from Davidson and Seaman, coupled with clutch free throws, kept Menlo alive in the game's final moments.
In overtime, the Oaks continued to display their resilience, with Seaman's post play and Davidson's outside shooting keeping the game neck-and-neck. However, turnovers and missed opportunities in the closing seconds allowed Academy of Art to set up a game-winning three-pointer as the clock expired.
Menlo showcased impressive team statistics, dominating the boards with a 49–39 rebounding advantage and scoring 44 points in the paint. The Oaks also capitalized on second-chance opportunities, adding 25 points off offensive rebounds. Despite the loss, the team's effort highlighted their depth, grit, and potential as they look to bounce back in their next PacWest matchup.
