Menlo Men’s Basketball Stuns CUI with Statement Win

IRVINE, CA – In an electrifying PacWest showdown at CU Arena, Menlo Men's Basketball delivered a stellar performance to defeat the high-quality Golden Eagles of Concordia Irvine, 78-75. The Oaks showcased their grit and determination, emerging victorious in one of their most impressive outings of the season.

Menlo's victory would not have been pulled off without focused performances across the board. The following stood out among the Oaks!

  • Landon Seaman was a force to be reckoned with, notching a double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 8-of-13 from the field. His defensive presence included 2 steals and a block, anchoring the Oaks in critical moments. Today is Seaman's 5th double-double of the 2024-25 season, leading the Oaks across the board.

  • Nick Davidson was equally dominant, adding a double-double of his own with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while also dishing out 3 assists and recording 2 steals in 36 minutes. Tonight's performance was a season-high for Davidson.

  • Patrick Ryan contributed 13 points on an efficient 5-of-7 shooting, including a crowd-pleasing dunk that ignited the Menlo bench.

  • Quentin Thompson added 8 points off the bench in just 18 minutes, showcasing the Oaks' depth and versatility.

From the opening tip, both teams displayed their championship-level intensity, trading leads 17 times and tying the game on 12 occasions. Menlo's defensive tenacity forced 10 turnovers, and their effort on the boards resulted in a 39-29 rebounding advantage.

The second half belonged to the Oaks, who shot an impressive 70.8% from the field in the period, outscoring Concordia 45-42.
