Game Recap: Men's Volleyball | | Drew Barton

Men’s Volleyball Moves to 2-0 with Sweep Over Simpson

Atherton, CA-In just their second match of the season Menlo Men's Volleyball put on a dominant showing that resulted in a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Simpson Redhawks. From the first serve of the game it was all Oaks with the Redhawks never scoring more than 17 points in any single set.

Everyone Chips in for the Win

It was a complete team effort with everyone making plays all over the court for the Oaks. For the second time this year Konrad Stoklosinski would lead the way on offense with a game high 13 kills. He was also particularly effective on the defensive side of the next picking up four block assists and seven digs.

Dylan Cohan's return from injury has also gotten off to a great start with another solid showing from the senior. Cohan had a game high six block assists as well as a solo block as he controlled the net for much of the night. He also had seven kills of his own to round out a solid showing.

The trio of Wojciech Nowack, William Lawler, and Makana Melchor would combine for 37 digs with each player posting at least 10. Lawler would also have a game high 38 assists as he continues to serve as the focal point for the Oaks attack, constantly funneling high quality passes to his teammates for easy kill opportunities

Up Next…

The boys will enjoy a few days away from competition before getting back on the road as they travel to UC Merced for a showdown with the Bobcats. They will get back in action this coming Tuesday with a chance to move to 3-0 on the young season!
