Fullerton, CA-The GSAC is one of the premier basketball conferences in the NAIA. Night in and night out games are settled by one or two possessions. Once again that was the case for Menlo Men's Basketball as they exchanged buckets all game long against the Royals of Hope International. Unfortunately, when the final buzzer sounded the Oaks had fallen by a score of 72-76. Regardless, the boys will look to bounce back in a few days against Vanguard and get back in the win column.
Nick High & Landon Seaman Battle on the Block
As has been the case for much of the season Menlo has found success thanks to the play of their starting forward and center. Landon Seaman played to his usual efficient standards with 19 points while only missing two shots for the game. The big man continues to provide a scoring punch that has become the bane of GSAC opponents. On top of his ability to put the ball in the basket, Seaman has grown as a rebounder and thanks to 12 more boards today he has now posted six double-doubles for the year.
Nick High has also evolved into a complete player capable of filling up a boxscore outside of his shooting prowess. While his 12 points mark the fifth time he has eclipsed double figures in scoring in his last six games, he has now become a reliable source of rebounding and defense. He grabbed eight rebounds and had a game high three blocks while battling opposing players in the key. He also had three assists that showcased his growing ability to get others the ball as well.

Despite a tough loss, the beauty of conference play is the opportunity to get back on the court in just a few days for another shot at getting a win. There are no moral victories when it comes to basketball but there are still bright spots to be had. Menlo will now look takedown Vanguard during the back half of this road trip. Last year the Lions and Oaks each took a game in the season series and now Menlo will look to strike first.
