Men’s Tennis Fall In Final Set to Arizona Christian 3-4

Glendale, AZ- On the second leg of their road trip Menlo Men's Tennis went down to the final few sets against Arizona Christian. After a strong start in the doubles, Menlo would win two of the singles matches but ultimately fall short finishing the match 2-4 across the six singles sets.

Strong Showing in the Doubles

Menlo started off strong once again across the three doubles matches. The Oaks won two of three matches in convincing fashion. The duo of Luis Hochenauer and David Mulas Zelenskaya secured the victory by a score of 6-3. The Oaks' other pair consisting of Saar Rogovski and Jan Trautwein were even more successful. They defeated the ACU tandem 6-2.

Singles Showdowns

While the doubles matches were all Menlo, the singles portion of the day would be tightly contested down to the final sets. Mulas Zelenskaya and Ruben Russwurm handled business in two sets. They would win in identical fashion winning their first set 6-4 and second set 6-1. Three of the individual matches would require a third set to determine a winner. Rogovski, Angel Roldan and Emmanuel Azam each won at least one but ultimately fell in the decisive third and final set. Rogovski in particular went down to the wire losing the third set, barely, by a score of 5-7.

Up Next…

The Oaks will return home for a few days before hitting the road again. Their next opponent will be the Westmont Warriors on March 17th down in Santa Barbara. This will be a great opportunity for the Oaks to get back in the win column.
