Men’s Tennis Wraps Up the Weekend 2-0

Santa Barbara, CA- It was a great weekend for Menlo Men's Tennis as they return home after a 2-0 road trip to Southern California. Not only did the team pick up a big win against conference rival Westmont but they also managed to defeat Fresno Pacific as well.

Match 1: Menlo 6, Westmont 1
Against the Westmont Warriors the team got off to a slow start falling in the doubles matches. Yet, once the singles got underway the Oaks took control. Luis Hochenauer, David Mulas Zelenskaya, Saar Rogovski, Angel Roldan, Ruben Russwurm and Afrasiab Zand all picked up wins as individuals. Mulas, Rogovski and Hochenauer were particularly efficient, defeating their opponents in just two sets to secure a Menlo victory.

Match 2: Menlo 5, Fresno Pacific 0
In the second day of their back to back matches Menlo was just as dominant. This time the Oaks would win the doubles with the pairings of Hochenauer/Mulas and Roldan/Russwurm picking up victories as partners. Individually, Roldan, Rogovski and Mulas would all win their singles matchups in just two sets. Rogovski in particular was extra efficient has he only allowed his opponent to score three points across their two sets.

Up Next…
With the momentum of two consecutive wins behind them the Oaks will now enjoy some time off before hitting the road once again. They will spend their next two matches down in San Diego taking on Point Loma and Saint Katherine's through March 30th-31st. The conference playoffs are right around the corner and Menlo Men's Tennis is starting to find their groove.
