MENLO KEEPS IT CLOSE IN 85-77 LOSS TO OUAZ

Atherton, California- It was a back and forth affair for Menlo Men's Basketball all night long. Both teams would score 41 points in the second half. They would both score 23 bench points. Grab 31 total rebounds and dish out 14 assists. Yet, in the end, the visiting OUAZ Spirit would hit just a few more shots to come away with an 85-77 victory.

Evan Dirksen Earns the Starting Nod

In his first start of the year senior Evan Dirksen came to play. The 6'6 forward would score 14 points and grab seven rebounds. His four made three pointers would also be a game high across both teams. Over his last two games, Dirksen has scored 26 points, hit eight threes and shot 47% from behind the arc. The senior's emergence as a key rotation piece will be critical for the Oaks final stretch of regular season games.

Khalid Price's Big Second Half

From the second unit, Khalid Price would pick up the scoring slack coming out of halftime. Price would score 11 points in the second half of action. In the final two minutes of the ball game Price was responsible for six points, a steal and an assist to Corey Le'aupepe for a big "And-1". He would finish the night with 14 points as well while also handling some playmaking duties with his three assist.

The Oaks are back in action this Saturday with highly ranked Arizona Christian coming to town. Having lost their last two contests, Menlo is looking for a win. While ACU may be the favorites, don't count out a hungry Oaks squad. The men will be tipping off at 2 PM inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion.
