MEN'S TENNIS FALL TO #10 WESTCLIFF

Atherton, California- The Menlo community officially hosted its first ever tennis match this Friday against the #11 Westcliff Warriors men's team. While the match did not go the Oaks way, the team and college should be proud to usher in a new sports program on the Wunderlich Courts.

Slow Start in the Doubles

The match started slowly for the Oaks during the three doubles matches. The pair of Luis Hochenauer & David Mulas Zelenskaya would fall 4-6 while Saar Rogovski & Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam dropped their match 3-6. Regardless, the Oaks were very much so competitive with the highly ranked Warriors.

Success in the Singles

Once the singles matches got underway the Oaks began to find their stride. Both Hochenauer and Ruben Russwurm jumped out to leads against their opponents. Hochenauer would win his first set 6-4. Russwurm was dialed in as well, winning his first set 6-4. Unfortunately, the Oaks would concede the match before their matches could be completed. Saar Rogovski also won his first set in convincing fashion 6-1.

Up Next…

It was not the result Menlo was hoping for. Yet, the Oaks still faced down a highly touted opponent and found some success, especially among the singles matches. The Oaks are back on the court tomorrow as they take on the visiting Hope International Royals.
