SANTA CLARITA, CA – Menlo Men's Soccer's first GSAC match on the road resulted in a 0-0 tie against The Master's Mustangs in over 100 degree weather. The match included mandated water breaks due to the scorching heat but the Oaks were able to earn the shutout and to remain undefeated this 2023 season (5-0-5, 2-0-1). The two teams are now tied for first in the GSAC standings with 7 points each.
Krumsvik Secures Shutout
Senior out of Bergen, Norway, Jo Krumsvik earned his 5th shutout of the season against The Master's. In 90 minutes played, the Mustangs fired off 13 shots, 10 of them being on frame and Krusmvik with 10 incredible saves to keep the score nil-nil. Jo made a clutch diving save in the last 3 minutes of the match to keep the Oaks alive. Krumsvik is fourth in the conference with a .773 save percentage with 17 saves so far this season. The Oaks starting Goalkeeper showed great technical saves today to help the Oaks stay undefeated!
Oaks Giving Themselves Chances
Despite no goals on the scoreline, Menlo still created quality opportunities for themselves in today's battle. Starting up top was sophomore Isak Haukefier who was able to generate 4 shots for the offense during his time played. Roy Rosenberg started on the back line for the Oaks and still managed to send 3 shots towards The Master's goal. Along with Haukefier, Dennis Vannin and Antonio Jimenez all had a shot on goal requiring The Mustang's keeper to pull through with a few saves. The opportunities are there, it is just up to the Oaks to finish them in the back of the net!
