Box Score

Irvine, CA- Menlo Women's Soccer returns to Wunderlich Field after a weekend trip down to southern California that saw the Oaks split their matches with a win against Vanguard and a close defeat to Hope International. With a final GSAC matchup scheduled for next week against the Warriors of Jessup the Oaks will look to end the regular season back in the win column.

Haley Dunham Continues to Find the Back of the Net

Sophomore Haley Dunham has been the heart of the Oaks offense this year and today's match was no exception with Dunham scoring Menlo's lone goal on the day. For the year Dunham is now up to five goals scored with 10 shots on goal out of her 17 total shot attempts. Dunham would need some help on her scoring efforts today and Ruby Doerr would be up to the task as he would provide the assist.

Defense Playing Well

While the result was not what Oaks fans were hoping for, Menlo's defense has been playing some of their most efficient ball this season. After this weekend's trip the team has allowed only two goals over their last four matches. Giorgia Melcore spent all 90 minutes in the goal for the Oaks and contributed eight saves on the day and the defense held up for most of the match despite the Royals taking 25 shots across the entire match.

Up Next…

The Oaks will look to wrap up their regular season with a final conference matchup against northern California rival Jessup University. The team will be back on the confines of Wunderlich Field October 26th at 4:00 PM!
