ATHERTON, CA – Menlo Women's Volleyball were inside Haynes-Prim Pavilion for their final home match of the season against Hope International. The Oaks were able to end it in 4 sets to make their record 15-7, 7-4 in GSAC play.
Powerful Finish Leads to Oaks 4-Set Victory
A sluggish start from Menlo resulted in Hope International winning the first set 21-25. From there, the Oaks were on fire! Maya Saole-Su'e ended set two with a kill from Beatrice Manzon to win 25-20. Two different 6-point runs would earn the third set win (25-18) for the Oaks, ending on a kill from Ayanna Barham. In the final set, Shawna Thompson was ready to end it, with 2 kills and a block assist in the last few plays of the match on her senior night. A Gabriella MacKenzie kill would seal the deal for one more victory inside Haynes-Prim for the 2023 season!
Marinelli Leads the Oaks to Another Victory
Sophomore Giulia Marinelli led the Oaks in kills with 11, as well as contributing 3 block assists and 8 digs. Maya Saole-Su'e was also a huge contributor towards the win with 7 kills, 4 block assists, 3 digs, an assist, and an ace. Beatrice Manzon dished out 28 assists and Paige HArmann with 13. Harmann was also tricky enough to land 2 dump kills against the Royals. Amey Rainaud-Hinds continues to dominate on the defensive side with 36 digs. It was a team effort tonight!
