Men’s Soccer Put on Senior Day Show with 9-0 Victory Over Life Pacific

ATHERTON, CA – It was an offensive show at Wunderlich field for the Men's Soccer Oaks taking down Life Pacific, 9-0. 7 different Oaks found the back of the net, with both Isak Haukefier and Jeremy Nieraeth scoring braces. Menlo remains undefeated with a record of 6-0-5 and 3-0-1 in GSAC play. Menlo now stands on top of the GSAC at #1 with 10 points, trailed by Vanguard and Hope International each with 9 points.

Oaks Burn Whole in Back of Net

Men's Soccer showed technicality during their domination against the Life Pacific Warriors. NAIA statistics do not track possession, but if it did, the Oaks were bound to have had at least 75% of the match. In a side-by-side team comparison, Menlo fired 22 shots, 14 being on goal, in the offensive side for the Oaks. Compared to 5 shots from the Warriors, 4 of them being on goal. Forward Isak Haukefier was contributing in big ways on the attack and earned 2 goals off of 4 shots taken. Jeremy Nieraeth also entered the match and made an immediate impact on the field scoring 2 goals in 43 minutes played. Axel Valle, Oliver Mayer, Eder Carrasco, Roy Rosenberg, and Saul Gutierrez also found the back of the net today. The Oaks were rewarded 3 penalty kicks throughout the match. They were all called for hard tackles in the box created by Menlo's offensive creativity, requiring the Warriors to foul. Menlo walks away feeling satisfied with the win and moves on to continue leading the GSAC.

Menlo on Top of GSAC Standings

The Oaks are still undefeated thus far in the 2023 season with 6 wins and 5 tie matches. Jo Krumsvik has started all but one match and carries a .526 goals to lead the GSAC in goalkeeper statistics. He has totaled 37 saves and 3 shut outs to help keep the Oaks out of the losing column. Krumsvik added another 4 saves to his tally during the match against Life Pacific. With zero losses against, that lands the Oaks at the top of the conference standings with 10 points. It is a close battle with Vanguard and Hope International close behind with 9 points. There are just 3 more matches in regular season play until preparation for post season begins!
