Menlo College

Leong had a successful weekend at the NWCA National Duals after leading his team to a 3rd place finish. The Oaks went 3-1 and faced four teams that are nationally ranked, including #1 Grand View. Rysan was one of the only Menlo wrestlers that went undefeated over the weekend.
 

The #4 nationally ranked senior began his weekend with a 12-0 major decision over Hayden Brown (#20 Oklahoma City) to add to Menlo's 47-3 victory. His second match up of the day was against #2 Shadrick Slone (#6 Campbellsville). The tight match ended in an 8-2 decision in favor of the Oak which flipped the script of the team score and gave Menlo a fighting chance. The Oaks ultimately pulled off the come back and won, 20-15 to earn their spot in the semifinals. Day two began against #1 Grand View where Rysan would face #6 Justin McCunn. Leong held him to a 2-0 decision victory after scoring an escape and a point for riding time in the third period. The final match of the weekend was against #14 Trace Braun (#4 Southeastern). There, he would tally a 7-2 decision that would add to the team victory that earned them 3rd place. Rysan was named CCC Wrestler of the Week for his success this past weekend!
