In a dramatic, high-stakes finish, Menlo College Softball resumed its suspended March 3rd matchup on Thursday April 30th with the score tied 3-3 in the eighth inning, as Biola, still in the hunt for a share of the regular season title, made the trip to complete the game. The Oaks rose to the occasion and secured a 4-3 walk-off victory. The win not only doubled their win percentage from last season, but also spoiled the Eagles’ title hopes. Lela Yslava delivered in the circle with two clutch strikeouts to keep the game tied. In the bottom half, Tacia Kahalewai led off with a single and later scored the winning run, while Emma Medina added a key hit to keep the rally going. With runners in scoring position, Grace was called up as a pinch hitter. Earlier this season, she also delivered a walk-off base hit, proving she’s built for big moments. She did it again, lining a walk-off RBI single through the right side to seal the victory, sending an explosion of celebration out from the dugout. The stands were packed with Oak fans, and the crowd went wild as the winning run crossed the plate. What a way to close it out, and what a way to show the home crowd what the Oaks are made of. A clutch moment, a signature win, and a performance to remember.
