Louisa Schwab, an assistant coach of the Menlo Women's Wrestling program, has been selected to represent Team USA at the 2025 UWW Senior Pan-American Championships in Monterrey, Mexico. Schwab will compete in the women's freestyle 55kg division which will be held from May 8-11.
 
Schwab's Team USA selection comes from her outstanding performance at the CLAW U.S. Open Wrestling Championships, competing against the nation's top wrestlers. Schwab would earn a 5th place finish in a stacked 55kg freestyle bracket.
 
In the quarterfinals of the tournament, the two-time NAIA All-American delivered an outstanding performance with a stunning 3-2 upset victory over the #2 seed in Alisha Howk, a 4x World Team member and a U23 bronze world medalist. The victory would put Schwab into the semifinals and ultimately secured her top five placement, after she closed out her tournament with a dominant 15-2 technical fall in the 5th place bout.
 
The 2025 Pan-American Championships in Monterrey will feature some of the top wrestlers from North, Central, and South America, with Schwab's inclusion in Team USA proving her elite status in the sport. The tournament is part of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Ranking Series, which is an important step on the road to future world and Olympic opportunities.
 
Schwab will start her international wrestling career with Team USA in Monterrey at the end of the week, starting on Friday, May 9th at 8:00AM PST.
