Rob Garcia joined the Menlo Athletics staff as Executive Director of Sports Information in July 2025.
Garcia previously spent over 16 years at Academy of Art University, serving as ART U's associate athletics director of media relations (2019-25), assistant athletics director of media relations (2014-19), sports information director (2012-14), sports information manager (2011-12), and sports information assistant (2008-10).
Responsible for all functions involving sports information, media relations, game oversight, and statistics, Garcia served as a contact for 16 intercollegiate teams over the course of his time with the Urban Knights. He produced a variety of written, photography, video, and social media content for the department's website and accounts.
With the help of his dedicated support staff, Garcia covered the Urban Knights’ historic pair of NCAA Division II women’s track & field National Championships en route to being named PacWest SID of the Year in 2012-13 and claimed the title for a second time in 2015-16. He also covered 30 NCAA DII individual National Champions, over 300 All-Americans, 11 PacWest Team Championships, and more than 130 individual PacWest Champions with ART U.
Prior to joining Academy of Art, Garcia, a Bay Area native, spent one season working as a member of the game-day staff with San Jose State University football. He graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a bachelor's degree in Communications and with a minor in Sports Management. At UCSB, he worked as sports director and a sports broadcaster for KCSB 91.9 FM, the campus radio station, in addition to serving as a sports staff writer for the Daily Nexus, the campus newspaper.
