Richard Fujii enters his second stint with Menlo College Men’s Basketball, bringing over 15 years of coaching experience at the college, high school, and national levels.
Fujii previously served on the Oaks’ staff from 2016-2020 and returned in 2025 to continue his work in recruiting and player development. Fujii helped guide the Oaks to a 20-11 record in 2017-2018.
In addition to his role at Menlo, Fujii has been involved with USA Basketball’s Youth & Sport Development Division since 2021, serving as a court coach at national training camps and a tournament director for the USA Basketball Club Championships. He has also been a speaker at USA Basketball Coach Academies.
Fujii’s background includes extensive experience in grassroots and high school basketball throughout California and Arizona, along with a professional career in education supporting students with a disability.
A graduate of Cal State Fullerton, Fujii is known for his player-centered approach, strong recruiting ties, and commitment to developing both the person and the player.
