Richard Fujii

Fujii enters his second stint as an Assistant Coach for the men's basketball team.

First joining the Menlo Men’s Basketball program in 2016-17, Fujii helped guide the Oaks to a 20-11 overall record in 2017-18. The campaign was highlighted by an eight-game win streak and five victories in the last six games of the year.

Prior to his first stint with Menlo, he served as the varsity basketball coach at Mountain View High School in 2015, helping the team to the semifinals in the Central Coast Section. He was the Director of the Junior Varsity and Varsity Programs at Mountain View and he directed summer camp for three levels.

Fujii started his coaching career as the varsity basketball coach at Calvary Chapel High School in 2012 where his team finished in third place in the Orange Coast League and made it to the CIF Playoffs. After being at Calvary Chapel for three years, he became the assistant varsity basketball coach at Los Altos High School where his team won the Central Coast Section Champions in Division II.

Fujii earned his bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Studies from Cal State Fullerton.
