Jaden Abas joined the Menlo College Men's Wrestling coaching staff after concluding one of the most accomplished careers in Stanford Wrestling history. A five-time NCAA Championship qualifier, NCAA All-American, and Pac-12 Champion, Abas brings elite collegiate experience and a proven track record of success to the Oaks.
During his six competitive seasons at Stanford, Abas became one of the nation's premier 149-pound wrestlers. He finished his career as a five-time NCAA qualifier (2021-25), highlighted by earning NCAA All-America honors as a redshirt freshman in 2021 after placing seventh at the NCAA Championships. His breakout campaign also saw him become just the second freshman NCAA All-American in Stanford program history while capturing the 2021 Pac-12 Championship and being named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year.
Throughout his collegiate career, Abas consistently competed among the nation's best, compiling 9Â career victories while recording dozens of ranked wins and helping Stanford capture multiple tournament team titles, including the program's first-ever Midlands Championships team title. He won prestigious tournaments such as the Midlands Championships, Roadrunner Open, Southern Scuffle, and Reno Tournament of Champions, while earning three Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week honors.
Equally impressive in the classroom, Abas established himself as one of the nation's top student-athletes. He was named the 2024 Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned CSC Academic All-America First Team honors, was selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team, received All-ACC Academic Team recognition in 2025, and concluded his career as a five-time NWCA Scholar All-American and four-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection.
Before arriving at Stanford, Abas was one of the nation's most decorated high school wrestlers. A graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, California, he was a two-time California State Champion, Super 32 Champion, Doc Buchanan Champion, and the nation's top-ranked 149-pound recruit according to FloWrestling. He amassed 202 career victories and helped lead Rancho Bernardo to a top-eight finish at the California State Championships.
Now transitioning into coaching, Abas brings championship experience, technical expertise, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the mat as he helps continue the tradition of excellence at Menlo College.
