Jackson Cascio

Jackson Cascio joined the Menlo Men's Basketball staff as an Assistant Coach in July 2025.

Helping guide Cal State Dominguez Hills men's basketballĀ to numerous championships, national success, and the best records in school history each of the past two seasons, CascioĀ brings his elite pedigree to the Oaks’ program.

Cascio contributed to CSUDH’s transformation into a NCAA Division II powerhouse after coming on as an assistant coach ahead of the 2022-23 campaign. The Toros’ 2023-24 run saw them achieve what was then a program record 22 victories (17 in conference) as a California Collegiate Athletic Association Championship was achieved alongside five CCAA All-Conference awards including Player of the Year Jeremy Dent-Smith and Newcomer of the Year Jakob Alamudun.

Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s hoops proceeded to better that mark with a 30-6 overall record in 2024-25, capturing CCAA Regular Season, CCAA Tournament, and NCAA DII West Region titles on their way a NCAA DII National Championship runner-up finish where CSUDH fell to Nova Southeastern by a single point. A collection of accolades naturally came with the run as Dent-Smith’s All-American selection combined with five more CCAA All-Conference honors.

ā€œI am very excited to bring Jackson on board to our coaching staff,ā€ Montgomery said. ā€œHe brings experience, winning culture, and high energy to our team. He’s had the opportunity to make the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons with advancing all the way to the 2025 National Championship game. We hope his experience can help us reach those same heights.ā€

For all they achieved on the court, the Toros excelled in the classroom as well under Cascio’s leadership, posting a combined team GPA higher than 3.2 over the last three years.

ā€œReally excited to work with Coach Montgomery and Menlo College,ā€ Cascio said. ā€œI’m hoping to use my experience to help cultivate a great student-athlete experience and bring some championships to Menlo.ā€

Prior to CSUDH, Cascio spent two years at NCAA Division I Santa Clara as a Graduate Assistant Coach while also obtaining his master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Along with coaching future professional players such as Jalen Williams of the 2025 NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder, he helped guide the Broncos to a 33-20 combined record that included a trip to the semifinal of the West Coast Conference Tournament in 2021-22.

En route to earning his bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Cal State Dominguez Hills, Cascio was tabbed as team captain of the Toros and Porterville College respectively. A CCAA All-Conference Academic Team honoree, Cascio earned the distinction of 2018 Pirate of the Year while at Porterville. His pre-college career saw him lead Redondo Union High School to four straight Bay League titles.
