Cristian Vasquez

Cristian Vasquez took over as Head Coach of the Menlo College NCWA Men's Wrestling program in the Fall of 2024, building on a strong debut year that saw record-breaking success.

During his time at the helm:

  • In 2024-25
    • Vasquez led the team to an impressive 8-4 dual meet record
    • Guided multiple athletes to individual titles at key tournaments, including the Battle at Sparta
    • Under his leadership, the program made history with three wrestlers earning All-American honors at the NCWA National Championship Tournament
  • In 2025-26:
    • Assisted with the launch of the NCWA Women's Wrestling program
    • Recorded a 10-5 dual record
    • Team placed 3rd overall at the WCC Championships with 6 placed in the top 3
    • 4 wrestlers earned All-American status at NCWA Championships
    • Named Menlo College Oak Coach of the Year in 2026 

Before stepping into coaching, Vasquez was a standout student-athlete. He competed for Menlo College from 2021 to 2023, where he earned NAIA Academic All-American honors and was an NAIA National Qualifier in his senior year. Prior to Menlo, he competed at the junior college level with Modesto JC and was a state placer at the CCCAA Championship at 125 pounds. Vasquez would close out his college career by earning his bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Menlo College in 2023.
