The only coach the Menlo College women's wrestling program has known, Lee Allen brings more than 50 years of knowledge to the position he has held for all nine years of the program. Under Allen, Menlo has produced three National Champions, 24 All-Americans and four Academic All-Americans. His oldest daughter, Sara, won a pair of national titles at Menlo while his youngest, Katherine, won her first last season. Both compete successfully at the international level.
A member of the international, collegiate, high school and youth wrestling communities, Allen was a representative on the 1956 (Melbourne) and 1960 (Rome) United States Olympic wrestling teams. Allen was also the head coach of the 1980 Olympic team that boycotted the games in Moscow.
At the high school level in Oregon, Allen was a four-time state champion. Allen is a member of the University of Oregon Hall of Fame, as well as the Oregon and California state halls of fame. Allen is also a member of the San Mateo County Hall of Fame. Most recently, Allen has coached the Peninsula Grapplers wrestling club, leading the team to two national titles.
Allen's two daughters, junior Katherine and graduate Sara, attend Menlo College and are ranked among the top women's wrestlers in the United States Senior Rankings.
