Menlo is very pleased to welcome Frank Mangiola to the athletic department in his first year as an assistant. Frank brings over 30 years of college coaching experience and expertise to the soccer staff.
A San Francisco native, Frank played at San Jose State as a goalkeeper and was an All-American in 1965. Frank then went on to play professionally and as part of the U.S. Olympic team.
From there, Frank began a coaching career which has covered all levels. After starting at the professional level with the Bay Area Blackhawks, Frank eventually moved into college coaching where he has stayed for more than 30 years. During this time, Mangiola's teams won numerous awards, accolades, and trophies under his direction. At the same time, Frank worked as an important part of the United States Soccer Federation, working at various levels of the ODP, as Director of Region IV, and acting as a USSF staff coach and goalkeeping specialist.
