Build the Next Chapter: Menlo Basketball Launches $150,000 Matching Challenge

7/6/2026 10:00:00 AM

Menlo College Athletics is proud to announce the launch of the Build the Next Chapter Matching Challenge, a two-week fundraising initiative that will support the renovation and enhancement of dedicated men's and women's basketball locker rooms.

The campaign begins with an extraordinary commitment from a member of the Menlo Basketball family who has pledged $150,000 and challenged the community to match that investment. If successful, the initiative will generate $300,000 in total project support.

"This is an opportunity to invest in the experience of our student-athletes while honoring the generations of players, coaches, parents, alumni, and supporters who helped build Menlo Basketball," said Keith Spataro, Vice President and Director of Athletics. "The locker rooms are the visible outcome, but the real impact is creating a space that strengthens team culture, leadership, accountability, and the daily experience of our student-athletes."

Over the past several years, Menlo Athletics has added more than 100 student-athletes while successfully transitioning to NCAA Division II competition and membership in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

As participation has grown, so has the importance of providing spaces that reflect the commitment and aspirations of the program.

The Build the Next Chapter Campaign invites alumni, current and former parents, supporters, and friends of Menlo Basketball to join together in creating that future.

Every gift made during the campaign will be matched dollar for dollar, doubling its impact and helping create a lasting investment in the Men's and Women's Basketball programs.

Every generation of Menlo Basketball benefits from those who came before them.

This is our opportunity to do the same.
