PacWest Conference Championship Results (Round 1 & 2)
NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – With a trio of Oaks combining to elevate 30 spots on Tuesday, the second round of the Pacific West Conference Championship was particularly prosperous for Menlo Men's Golf as the team posted their second-lowest score of the season (291), collectively passing five other squads to move into second place overall.
Oaks' 49 Pars, 13 Birdies Highlight Second Round
After opening just outside the top 10 yesterday, sophomore
Ryan Bello used a 1-over-par 73 highlighted by 14 pars and two birdies to enter a four-way tie for fifth at 3-over-par 147 in the tournament.
That position change was surprisingly the smallest when compared to graduate student
Jack Stark and junior
Cole Kroeker as the former rose 15 spots into a tie for 11th (5-over-par 149) following his even-par 72 that featured 12 pars and three birdies. Meanwhile, Kroeker took two strokes off his round one score, logging 11 pars and four birdies for a 2-over-par 74 that helped him pass eight others to tie for 14th.
Serving as a substitute in the second round, senior
Tej Gangavarapu made a major contribution with his best singular round of the season at even-par 72 thanks to 12 pars and four birdies on the day.
