Menlo Men’s Golf Elevates Three Spots In Hanny Stanislaus Invite Finale

TURLOCK, CA
 – Continuing to go toe-to-toe with five nationally-ranked opponents in the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational on Tuesday, Menlo Men's Golf wrapped up action out at Turlock Golf & Country Club by finishing fifth overall with three Oaks in the upper half of a loaded field.

Oaks Highlights
-Team finished ahead of six others including the PacWest's Jessup & Dominican and No. 26 Cal State East Bay
-Shooting his best round of the season (2-under-par 69), Ryan Bello passed 25 others on the last day
-Emmett Shell, Jack Stark, & Tej Gangavarapu combined for 28 birdies over three rounds
-Cole Kroeker & Stark each posted an eagle during the tournament

Bello Shines On Final Day, Passing 25 Others With Season-Best Round
Between multiple nationally-ranked individuals and one of just eight to finish multiple strokes under in round three, sophomore Ryan Bello had 18 holes to remember on Tuesday. After opening with seven pars in his first eight holes, the sophomore caught fire on his back nine, delivering three consecutive birdies across Holes 1-3 then adding another on Hole 6 for his best single round of the season at a 2-under-par 69 that rose him 25 spots into a tie for 21st with a season-best 7-over-par 220.

The Oaks leader when all was done, junior Cole Kroeker shared 19th place after an eagle on Hole 16 soon gave way to a birdie on Hole 2 then six straight pars for the even-par 71 on the day and 6-over-par 219 in the tournament. Sophomore Emmett Shell had four birdies of his own on Tuesday, ending with a 3-over-par 74 and 9-over-par 222 combined score in a tie for 31st while graduate student Jack Stark nearly matched his strong opening round with a 2-over-par 73 and an 11-over-par 224 that earned him a share of 41st overall.

With the regular season now complete, Menlo will turn their attention to the Pacific West Conference Championship taking place on Apr. 20-22 at Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas, NV.
