RCA Electric Spring Invitational Results

MORGAN HILL, CA – Menlo Men's Golf held strong to its lead over the field after the first day of the RCA Electric Spring Invitational, delivering the best of three rounds at Coyote Creek Golf Course with three Oaks among the top 10 powering the first collective victory on Friday.

Cole KroekerOaks Highlights
-Team bettered four other PacWest opponents including Westmont, Jessup, Chaminade, and Hawaii Pacific
-Jack Stark and Cole Kroeker combined for 19 birdies in the tournament
-Five different Oaks logged an eagle across the three rounds led by two from Ryan Bello

Supporting Cast Shifts To Send Menlo To Nine-Stroke Winning Margin
Though junior Cole Kroeker paced the more than 45 golfers in action to start the day, a rollercoaster front nine of three birdies and four bogeys had him suddenly just outside the top position. He would end with a 5-over-par 77 as well as a 6-over-par 222 which put him in sole possession of third. Graduate student Jack Stark wound up just one stroke behind his teammate in fourth after six birdies led the High Wycombe, England native to his best round of the season at a 3-under-par 69, giving him a 7-over-par 223 to end the tournament.

Sophomore Ryan Bello delivered his second eagle in as many rounds to highlight an 8-over-par 80 for his final round, concluding in a tie for ninth at 13-over-par 229 while the biggest move up by any Oak was freshman Zihe Miao who had an eagle of his own plus two birdies and 10 pars supporting his 16-spot jump into a tie for 24th overall.

First out of the seven-team field that included Pacific West Conference opponents Westmont, Jessup, Chaminade, and Hawaii Pacific, Menlo's collective 38-over-par 902 was the squad's third-lowest mark of the season.
