Season-Best Rounds Turned In By Multiple Oaks
Turning in one of her five birdies on the day in just her second hole, Penzold went on to pair a 2-over-par 74 in round one with a 3-over-par 75 in round two. The collective 5-over-par 149 put her into a tie with Oregon Tech's Sydney Dick for first out of the 30-golfer field, helping keep Menlo within single-digit strokes (74-over-par 650)Â of the battle for first behind Dominican (65-over-par 641) and the Owls (66-over-par 642).
Sophomore
Kayla Lancaster delivered one of her best rounds of the year to start, logging two birdies and nine pars for the 5-over-par 77 before closing with an 8-over-par 80 which settled her into fifth overall. Near one another in the individual standings, junior
Julia Torrez will carry a 27-over-par 171 into her tie for 19th to begin Tuesday while junior
Haley Hoang's 13-over-par 85 represented her best mark of the season, helping her into a tie for 21st overall at a 29-over-par 173.
