Box Score

FRESNO, CA –
Meeting on neutral ground at Fresno Pacific's Haak Tennis Complex on Wednesday, Menlo Men's Tennis and No. 26 Biola went down to the wire in what would be a 4-3 victory for the Eagles that was ultimately settled on a pair of three-set singles battles between the two squads.

Oaks End Up One Singles Set Shy Of Match Win
Though Biola assumed an early advantage with the nation's No. 5 doubles team and a victory on Court 3, Menlo would not back down. Junior Henry Riccioni-Brown started the comeback on Court 2 where he won the opening set 6-4 then was up 3-0 before his opponent, Adam Large, retired.

Graduate student Galien Del Vecchio, who had won on his doubles court alongside graduate student Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam 6-3 moments prior, doubled up on the day by defeating Tanner Summers 6-2, 6-3 on Court 6. With the match evening out, BU was able to hold a 3-2 lead while both junior Robin McAlpine and freshman David Espinosa Navarro entered their third sets on Court 1 and Court 3 respectively. Despite Espinosa Navarro's 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 triumph over Keyon Gahvarehchi, the Eagles managed to get the final win they needed, escaping as 4-3 winners.
