Coyote Classic Results (Rounds 1 & 2)
BEAUMONT, CA – The tandem of sophomore
Emmett Shell and junior
Cole Kroeker each shot 2-under-par 70 in round two to push Menlo Men's Golf ahead of six other teams into seventh through the first two rounds of Cal State San Bernardino's Coyote Classic on Monday out at Oak Valley Golf Club.
Two Impressive Second Rounds Elevating The Oaks
After freshman
Zihe Miao had the best first round among the Oaks with a 2-over-par 73 that was highlighted by his second career eagle, Shell and Kroeker went to work in the second with multiple birdies apiece plus an eagle from Kroeker to both move into the 80-golfer field's top 31. Shell now finds himself tied for 15th at a 1-over-par 145 while Kroeker is at a 4-over-par 148 and tied for 31st following their aforementioned improved scores.
With one round left to play, Miao is not far behind in a tie for 36th at a 5-over-par 149 while freshmanÂ
QiFeng "Adam" Tong is the fourth Menlo qualifier with four birdies powering his 11-over-par 155. As a team, the Oaks are seventh overall, just two strokes behind Northwest Nazarene and three strokes in front of Fort Lewis.
