AZUSA, CA – Facing off against a Hawaii Pacific team that had won six straight matches coming into Monday, Menlo Men's Tennis managed to claim a win on one doubles court, but the Sharks ended up prevailing 7-0 at Azusa Pacific's Munson & Bavougian Tennis Complex.

Singles Tiebreaker, Three-Set Pairing Give HPU Edge In Competitive Contest
The doubles team of graduate student Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam and senior Asger Emil Ildor were able to even up the initial pairings with their 7-5 victory over Ethan Terry and Mile Matic on Court 2, but Hawaii Pacific managed their own 7-5 result on Court 3 to secure the match's first point.

Pushing a 3-0 advantage to begin singles action, the Sharks could have easily seen a different end score with how close the matchups were on Court 2, Court 5, and Court 6. Junior Henry Riccioni-Brown was barely outlasted by Terry 7-5, 7-5 on Court 2 while graduate student Galien Del Vecchio dropped a 7-2 first set tiebreaker as part of his 7-6 (7-2), 6-3 final versus Rene Gabriel Jung on Court 6. Senior Robinson Pelluault, playing his third three-set battle of the spring, just did not have enough down the stretch, falling 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 to Arthur Pery on Court 5.
