Nima Trips earn a straight-sets victory in his collegiate debut as the Oaks topped Ventura College 4-3 at Avila Bay Racquet Club on Sunday evening.

The doubles point proved crucial as Menlo gained a 2-0 advantage on an early Pirate retirement in singles, but Ventura College took the first of what would be three singles wins thereafter. Trips put away his Court 5 opponent 6-3, 6-3 in a strong first match then senior
Robinson Pelluault sealed the match triumph on Court 1 by way of a 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 clincher.
