Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Seeing Menlo Men’s Golf Battling Country’s Elite

Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout Results (Round 1&2)

ALAMEDA, CA – In an 18-team tournament featuring seven nationally-ranked teams, Menlo Men's Golf began the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout in 14th overall with one Oak, junior Cole Kroeker, among the top six after two rounds of play at Corica Park Golf Course.

Kroeker Two Strokes From Leader Heading Into Final Day
Two rounds into the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, Kroeker could be found among the 26 golfers shooting under par out of 102 overall. He opened the tournament by tying his best singular round of the year as five birdies powered him to a 2-under-par 70. Kroeker then added four more birdies for a new season-best 3-under-par 69 to help put him into a four-way tie for sixth at 5-under-par 139. Meanwhile, sophomore Emmett Shell progressed through his two rounds as a 2-over-par 74 was improved upon by his 1-over-par 73 that featured five birdies, putting the Niwot, CO native into a tie for 50th.

Just one stroke back of Shell, freshman QiFeng "Adam" Tong holds a spot in what is a six-way tie for 57th at 4-over-par 148 after his even-par 72 opening round was highlighted by a six-hole stretch that saw him post three birdies and one eagle. Rounding out the top four for Menlo is freshman Zihe Miao in a tie for 75th at 7-over-par 151.
