NORWALK, CA – The Menlo Women's Wrestling team delivered a commanding performance at the Cerritos Women's Open, producing five individual champions, ten total placements, and a team title to add on to the resume this season.

Champ After Champ
The Oaks took control of the entire tournament from the first weight class to the last, starting with freshman Navjot Waraich. Waraich powered through the bracket with authority, opening with a 10-0 technical fall, followed by back-to-back falls in the quarterfinals and semifinals. In a tightly contested championship bout, Waraich secured a 6-4 decision over Sienna Montanez of Mt. SAC to claim gold at 103. Following her teammate is veteran leader Haley Narahara, who has been dominant all season. Narahara delivered one of the most impressive tournament runs this season, securing a pin in her first bout, then rolling to three consecutive technical falls, including an 11-0 tech in the finals over Vanessa Alvarado of Westcliff to capture the 124lb title.

Fellow teammate Stephanie Chavez repeated Narahara's success at 138lbs, recording four consecutive falls with none lasting longer than 1:02. Chavez closed out her tournament with an 11-0 technical fall against Dalila Preciado of Cerritos College to claim the 138lb crown.

Alexandra Lopez and Kalila Shrive were a critical and dominant one-two punch at the 160- and 180-pound weight classes. Lopez started her run by showcasing her lethal offense. Posting two technical falls and two pins to secure the 160lb title. Shrive followed in the following weight, recording three falls on her way to the championship bout. She finished the tournament with a 10-0 technical fall in the finals to claim first place.
