Box Score
SANTA CLARA, CA – Not backing down from NCAA Division I Santa Clara, Menlo Men's Tennis took numerous games off the opposition across doubles and singles action before ultimately falling 7-0 on Sunday at Degheri Tennis Center.
Oaks Start Day By Nearly Swinging Doubles In Their Favor
Menlo gave the Broncos quite a fight in doubles play to begin the contest as Courts 2 and 3 went back and forth. The pairs of junior
Robin McAlpine and freshman
David Espinosa Navarro on Court 2 as well as graduate student
Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam and sophomore
Tijl Forger on Court 3 were both tied 4-4 at one point and, though Alexander Watanabe Eriksson and Lukas Maskow emerged with the 6-4 win to end the series, the Oaks' competitiveness was clearly on display.
In singles, there were only two sets that did not see Menlo claim at least one game as Espinosa Navarro (6-1, 6-2 on Court 3), Forger (6-2, 6-1 on Court 4), and senior
Robinson Pelluault (6-1, 6-2 on Court 6) each took three in total from Maskow, Tiago Boschmans, and Mahir Khurana respectively, hanging in despite the end results.
