DOWNEY, CA – Menlo Women's Golf saw plenty of birdies turned in by freshmen
Kim Penzold and
Ester Otiepkova on Tuesday as the LA Spring Kickoff wrapped up with the Oaks in 12th overall at Rio Hondo Golf Club.

Multiple Oaks Deliver Best Three-Round Scores Of Season
Well within striking distance of a tight race for top-10 team placement just ahead, Menlo moved inside the top nine for a portion of Tuesday's action. Penzold and Otiepkova combined for five birdies in their first eight holes, sending them to 2-over-par 74 and 6-over-par 78 scores respectively on the day. Those performances led Penzold to an 8-over-par 224 and Otiepkova to a 23-over-par 239 through three rounds, earning them individual ties for 13th and 44th overall respectively.
Senior
Angelina Pohahau highlighted her back nine with the team's first eagle of the new calendar year on Hole 3 en route to a tie for 49th and a 25-over-par 241, a 15-stroke improvement on her debut mark last fall. The fourth and final Oak to qualify in a tie for 60th was junior
Julia Torrez who, alongside Pohahau, sophomore
Kayla Lancaster, and junior
Haley Hoang, ended with her best three-round tournament score of the season (28-over-par 244).
