LA Spring Kickoff Results (Round 1 & 2)
DOWNEY, CA – Monday's first two rounds of the 2026 Menlo Women's Golf campaign saw multiple Oaks improve their scores as the team put themselves in position to make a move into the top 10 on the final day of the LA Spring Kickoff out at Rio Hondo Golf Club.
First Two Rounds See Menlo Four Strokes From Top 10
The team leaders after one round, freshmen
Kim Penzold and
Ester Otiepkova were one stroke apart at 4-over-par 76 and 5-over-par 77 as two birdies on back-to-back holes (17 and 18) propelled Penzold and a team-best 11 pars kept Otiepkova just behind. Three more birdies helped Penzold drop her score further to a 2-over-par 74 in the second round that put her into 17th among the field of 75 competitors. Meanwhile, senior
Angelina Pohahau took seven strokes off her opening round in the second, finishing with a 3-over-par 75 that featured four birdies toward a 13-over-par 157 on the day in 37th overall.
Improvement by round also came from sophomore
Kayla Lancaster who, competing as an individual, can be found tied for 66th with a 23-over-par 167. Rounding out the top four Oaks qualifiers thus far, Otiepkova and junior
Julia Torrez are both at 17-over-par 161 to share the 49th spot.

An 8 a.m. shotgun tee time has the Oaks back at Rio Hondo Golf Club for the third and final round of the LA Spring Kickoff tomorrow.
