ATHERTON, CA –
Menlo Men's Tennis returned home to compete for the first time in three weeks at Cartan Tennis Courts where a matchup with an undefeated Chabot College team awaited on Saturday. Though the Oaks earned an early advantage in doubles, it took two more hard-fought three-set singles victories to secure the 4-3 victory.

Werner Ferreira Delivers Winning Point To Fend Off Comeback
Clear afternoon weather conditions gave way to strong doubles results for Menlo with graduate students Erkin Tootoonchi Moghaddam and Galien Del Vecchio opening 6-2 winners on Court 2. Soon after one another, the tandem of senior Duarte Brito and sophomore Yuto Morita as well as junior Henry Riccioni-Brown and graduate student Ian Ramiro Perez handled their respective opponents 6-4 and 7-5.

Though the Trojans briefly evened up the match in singles, senior Robinson Pelluault quickly pushed past Alex Englund 6-2, 6-4 on Court 2 to put the Oaks back in front. With all other singles pairings needing three sets, sophomore Tijl Forger was first to finish, winning 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 before Chabot began to threaten on the remaining courts. Ultimately, freshman Joao Pedro Werner Ferreira finished off the 4-3 triumph with his 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 final over Theeran Sivakumar, demonstrating tenacity and resilience.
